Mark your calendars for this exclusive screening event hosted jointly by Aziz & Gwen Sancar Foundation (AGSF) and Bridge to Türkiye Fund (BTF) at the Sancar Turkish Cultural & Community Center (STCCC) on April 13th. This documentary (with English subtitles) highlights a unique local initiative in the charming seaside town of Çeşme, one of Türkiye’s top holiday destinations.

Brought to life with the joint support of Bridge to Türkiye Fund and Shipley Foundation, the Academy offers a pioneering model of local development bridging education, culinary arts, entrepreneurship and agricultural production in the very heart of Türkiye’s tourism industry.

Feyza’nın Mutfağı (2023) Amerika’da yaşayan Türkler tarafından kurulan Bridge to Türkiye Fund (BTF) ve Shipley Vakfı bağışıyla Ege Üniversitesi Çeşme Turizm Fakültesi’nde gastronomi akademisi inşaatına başlanır. Türkiye’de ilk defa hayata geçirilen akademi modeli ile üniversite eğitiminin yanı sıra, akademiyi halka açarak ekonomik yetersizlik içindeki kişilere ücretsiz atölyeler düzenlemek, üreticilere ürünlerini değerlendirme imkanı sağlamak, tarımda marka yaratmak da hedeflenmektedir. Film, proje paydaşlarının motivasyonları ile Çeşme’nin çok bilinmeyen tarımsal yönü, üretimin değeri, tarım alanlarının el değiştirmesiyle hızla betonlaşan Çeşme ve çevresinde henüz yapılabilecek olanlar üzerine yoğunlaşıyor.

With the donation of the Bridge to Türkiye Fund (BTF), established by Turks living in America, and the Shipley Foundation, the construction of a gastronomy academy begins at Ege University Çeşme Tourism Faculty. With the academy model implemented for the first time in Türkiye, it is aimed to open the academy to the public in addition to university education, to organize free workshops for people with economic inadequacy, and to provide producers with the opportunity to evaluate their products. and to create a brand in agriculture. The film focuses on the motivations of the project stakeholders, the unknown agricultural aspect of Çeşme, the value of production and what can be done in Çeşme and its surroundings after the sale of agricultural land.
