Today’s news is filled with stories on Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Some of the news is encouraging, some is innocuous, and some is deeply disturbing.
In the deeply disturbing category the May 2nd, 2023, issue of The Atlantic, in “NEVER GIVE ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE THE NUCLEAR CODES,” indicated that people are working on the possibility of giving AI control of our nuclear arsenal.
Could this be a good idea?
