This is a 1:15 minutes theatre class. Keloğlan is a traditional trickster character. Students will play traditional Turkish games and create scenes based on Keloğlan stories
Born on 1996 in Ankara- Turkey, Derya completed her primary and secondary education in TED Ankara College. Between 2014-2018, she continued her bachelors degree in Guidance and Psychological Counseling with a minor in English Language Teaching in TED University. Meanwhile, she attended night-time theatre conservatories. She graduated with the third highest score of the University and top score of the Faculty. In 2018, she started her master’s program of Fine Arts Teaching in Educational Sciences Institute of Ankara University where her focus was theatre and drama education. In 2020, she began her Master’s of Fine Arts program in Theatre for Youth in University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She has recently graduated and will be teaching college-level courses. Derya has been teaching drama to young learners (aged 5 to 11) for the past six years. She has currently worked as a teaching artist at Lexington Children’s Theatre, which is one of the most well-known youth theatre in the United States of America. She is especially interested in story drama, cultural stories and devising theatre. She is a recipient of the NCTC Constance Welsh award and she has presented her work in prestigious conferences.
