CPR Course Details
This is a hands-only CPR training course developed in conjunction with Orange County EMS estimated to take around 1-1.5 hours. The course will be conducted using two feedback training mannequins, one operational training AED, and by several trained EMT certified volunteers.
Here is a list of a few topics that will be covered:
1. CPR statistics and common myths
2. Practicing 4 Cs to CPR – Check, Call 911, Compress, and Connect AED
3. Communication with 911
4. Advanced directives
5. Good Samaritan law and legalities
Lacking the credential to provide an official American Red Cross CPR certification to members, CPR-certification cards authorized by medical personnel involved in the RACE-CARS trial will be provided. Most importantly, this project is a service effort, working to improve CPR knowledge across the county, so citizens can feel well equipped if confronted with a cardiac arrest patient.
