Cooking Class – Introduction to How Foods Fight Cancer

November 8, 2025 @ 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm EST
$35.00

Join us to learn about the many benefits of healthy whole food plant-based vegan diet.

Our experienced chef Dilip will discuss evidence-based nutrition and apply it in the kitchen, where several dishes will be prepared. This will be a one-time Food for Life: Cancer Project session.

Certain diet patterns seem to have a major effect in helping people diagnosed with cancer to live longer, healthier lives. The National Cancer Institute research shows that as much as 33 percent of cancer risk may be related to diet. In this class, you will learn about food choices that can help reduce the risk of developing cancer as well as prevent a recurrence.

Through both discussion and hands-on cooking, this class will provide the knowledge and tools to support health with a whole-food diet. While the focus is on overall wellness; this particular session will highlight cancer prevention and management.

Menu:
– Zippy Yams and Collards

– Easy Bean Salad

– Mixed Banana Smoothie

Students will sample the dishes and go home with recipes for these easy, healthful, and tasty dishes.
