SUMMARY:Documentary Film Screening - Feyza's Kitchen - Watch a film\, change a girl's life
DESCRIPTION:Mark your calendars for this exclusive screening event hosted jointly by Aziz & Gwen Sancar Foundation (AGSF) and Bridge to Türkiye Fund (BTF) at the Sancar Turkish Cultural & Community Center (STCCC) on April 13th. This documentary (with English subtitles) highlights a unique local initiative in the charming seaside town of Çeşme\, one of Türkiye’s top holiday destinations. \nSet against the backdrop of Türkiye’s beautiful Aegean region\, the documentary beautifully narrates the story behind the Academy of Gastronomy – an innovative educational institution established under the auspices of Ege University’s Faculty of Tourism in Çeşme. Brought to life with the joint support of Bridge to Türkiye Fund and Shipley Foundation\, the Academy offers a pioneering model of local development bridging education\, culinary arts\, entrepreneurship and agricultural production in the very heart of Türkiye’s tourism industry. \nAll event proceeds and donations will directly benefit BTF Empowerment Scholarships Program for girls affected by the earthquakes in Türkiye.\n \nPre-registration is required to attend the event –\n$20 per person\nRegister here. 🔗\nAll donations are welcome even if you can’t attend but would like to support the cause. Spread the word! \n\nSTUDENTS ONLY\nWe are sponsoring limited number of free tickets for Students.\nRSVP for “Free” Student Tickets here. 🔗 \n\n\nAppetizers and Refreshments will be served. \nRead more about Cinema4aCause and Feyza’s Kitchen via the links below. \n📌 Cinema4aCause – What is it? 🔗 \n📌 Feyza’s Kitchen 🔗 \n📌 Feyza’nın Mutfağı | Fragman (youtube.com) 🔗 \nFeyza’nın Mutfağı (2023) Amerika’da yaşayan Türkler tarafından kurulan Bridge to Türkiye Fund (BTF) ve Shipley Vakfı bağışıyla Ege Üniversitesi Çeşme Turizm Fakültesi’nde gastronomi akademisi inşaatına başlanır. Türkiye’de ilk defa hayata geçirilen akademi modeli ile üniversite eğitiminin yanı sıra\, akademiyi halka açarak ekonomik yetersizlik içindeki kişilere ücretsiz atölyeler düzenlemek\, üreticilere ürünlerini değerlendirme imkanı sağlamak\, tarımda marka yaratmak da hedeflenmektedir. Film\, proje paydaşlarının motivasyonları ile Çeşme’nin çok bilinmeyen tarımsal yönü\, üretimin değeri\, tarım alanlarının el değiştirmesiyle hızla betonlaşan Çeşme ve çevresinde henüz yapılabilecek olanlar üzerine yoğunlaşıyor. \nWith the donation of the Bridge to Türkiye Fund (BTF)\, established by Turks living in America\, and the Shipley Foundation\, the construction of a gastronomy academy begins at Ege University Çeşme Tourism Faculty. With the academy model implemented for the first time in Türkiye\, it is aimed to open the academy to the public in addition to university education\, to organize free workshops for people with economic inadequacy\, and to provide producers with the opportunity to evaluate their products. and to create a brand in agriculture. The film focuses on the motivations of the project stakeholders\, the unknown agricultural aspect of Çeşme\, the value of production and what can be done in Çeşme and its surroundings after the sale of agricultural land. \nYÖNETMEN Jale İncekol YAPIMCI Ayla İncekol UYGULAYICI YAPIMCI Doğacan Aktaş GÖRÜNTÜ YÖNETMENİ Taşkın Ceyhan SANAT YÖNETMENİ Ayla İncekol KARA TOPRAK TÜRKÜSÜ YORUM Demircan Demir YARDIMCI YÖNETMEN Ege Şirin JALE İNCEKOL ASİSTAN Süleyman Arıkan IŞIK ŞEFİ Yusuf Etem Tezcan YAPIM KOORDİNATÖRÜ Batuhan Baharoğlu-Buse Yılmaz SES Mehmet Bayar YÖNETMEN ASİSTANI Berfin Günvar KURGU Alperen Albayrak SES MİKSAJI Emrah Metin COLOR CORRECTION Civan Zengin

SUMMARY:Cooking: Mercimek Çorbası and Börek or Pide
DESCRIPTION:During this class Susan Barilla will share how to prepare Mercimek Çorbası (red lentil soup) and Börek (pastry usually filled with spinach and/or cheese) or Pide (pita bread.) These dishes make a great menu for a cool fall day. \nLentils are rich in protein\, fiber\, iron and folate. Red lentils\, the mildest\, sweetest\, and most ‘tender’ of the lentil varieties\, are popular for use in soups and stews\, especially when you want a soft texture. Unlike many other varieties\, they don’t hold their shape (or texture) well when cooked as the seed coat has been removed\, which is why they’re often used in pureed soups and sauces. \nSusan Barilla\, our chef for this class\, previously worked at Southern Season and Peaceful River Farm. She is an adventurous and experienced chef. With her background in healthcare at Duke university\, Susan is known with health conscious recipes and Turkish vegetarian dishes. \n  \n

Involved in painting since his early childhood\, he began his career by drawing miniatures in Istanbul.
